Why Northside #3?

Over the last few years I have made a coffee shop down the street, the Daily on Rouse and Oak in Bozeman, my morning office. On the large steel beams above the sofas are the original coordinates chalked onto the steel beams from when they built the building. For some unexplained reason it became the name of this blog as its where all the creative research that goes into everything we create for Bootleg starts.

In a twist of fate one of our clients businesses became big enough that we eventually decided to go on full time. While we still continue a few small clients and pro-bono jobs through bootleg the majority of the research you see in NS3 happens at their office, 2 doors down from the Daily, which ironically contains the same chalked beams.

I try to be selective about what goes into the blog. Its not only the great works of designers and illustrators but also their sites. If a site is boring, sluggish or doesn't work i'll generally leave it out..
