Spit Reason

The other day someone said to me "Tumblr is like blogging for lazy people" and I thought wow, thats so true and thats why I love using it. and the way it displays images. and you find folks like this which is great:

keep_calm.jpg

"We're an online store for geeks and gamers with a strong focus on products that embody a high-tech lifestyle and passion for retro nostalgia. We play lots of video games, watch science fiction, read comic books, roll 20-sided dice, bring bits and bytes to life with thousands of lines of code, and spend most of our time basking in the radiation output from large, flat-screen LCD monitors. We may not have the best social skills or see the light of day very often, but rest assured, when the zombie apocalypse does come -- you want to roll with us."

Art School

The title says it all. so true and funny. but i guess if you discovered all of this before leaving school the magic of the discovery might be lost.

2009 Dirtbag Ball Ski Poster

dirtbag09_sm

The 2009 Dirtbag Ball poster is available for purchase online at bootlegenterrpise.com. It is 11 x 16 and printed on a digital press. The font, Quadaptor, is provided by Ray Larabie of typodermic.com. Thanks again Ray for another amazing, adaptable font.

This poster has multiple meanings. If you are a Brigder Bowl skiir you can appreciate the Change given the expansion of the ski area that people have been waiting for for years. If you are not, you may appreciate it as a solid knockoff of Shepard Fairey's now famous Obama poster.

 vgAlt Brand
We recently developed a brand for Brock Dubbles, Principal Learning Architect and President of vgAlt.com. Once again Ray Larabie of Typodermic and another one of his amazing fonts won the race. Neuropol X, a futuristic font recalling sci-fi, video games, Vectorbeams, and flatbed plotters. Neuropol X bridges the style gap between the geometric sans serif fonts of the late 20th century and superelliptical futuristic fonts. Thanks again Ray, out of the thousands of fonts available out there yours came up again. We appreciate it.

Artemy Lebedev on Marketing

| No TrackBacks
"Marketing people are in a way comparable to Russia’s “indigenous peoples of the north” who, in a transport to partake of the miraculous technology of sound reproduction in the early 20th century, came a long way for a phonograph. Much impressed by its performance, they would carry home its horn, never bothering about the rest, and were naïvely astonished that the music wouldn’t play the way it did at the flea market." The rest of the story... If you happen to be interested in "marketing" this blog is a great place to get another perspective you will not normally hear from your agency. Madership, by Atremy Lebedev touches mainly on design and typography but has its fair share of brilliance on other topics.
